Macramaniac!

As a side hobby, and for great handmade Christmas presents, I have recently go into macrame! And so have so many other 'crafties' as its so popular these days! You see it everywhere, and rather than buying it, I thought I'd have a go myself and found its surprisingly easy and therapeutic to do.

I made this leaf as my first try, it took only 30 mins and a small amount of the cord from this ball. You only need a ruler, sharp scissors and macrame cord to do it! You may need extra things like wooden hoops, sticks, beads, a brush and fabric stiffener for whatever you choose to make.

I love plants and have a lot round my house and macrame plant hangers are a lovely way to display them. They are so on trend too!

I found this really good tutorial to make this leaf (actually a feather in the tutorial but mine looks like a leaf) at

A lovely creative site full of craft ideas as well as other things cool!

I'd love some more tutorials for macrame if anyone knows any good ones!

So I'll definitely be 'macramaying' the winter away! Give it a go!
